Classroom Lino

This week we worked on Lino and it was pretty fun. We wrote down what it means to be a disciple or a Catholic. Pika and I worked together. We wrote down that it means to go to church on Sunday and to respect each other. We really liked using Lino and can't wait to do it again.

This is what the app looks like if you want to try it.

This is what our class made. We could make our post its different colors and we could put silly stamps on it too. We love using Lino. By: Wolf

This is picture of Mr. Gizdich. He gave us our tour. He was very very nice. By: Saber Tooth

He taught us about Johnny Appleseed and how apples get to a store. He also let us go in a giant fridge. That was super cool and also super cold. He used a harmonica to get our attention so he could tell us stuff and warn us if there was a tractor or truck. By: Raccoon

Me and my partner, Rattlesnake, picked three really big apples. They were super big. By: Cobra

They washed all our apples and we got to eat some of them! They were good. By: Lion

Applesauce

We made applesauce in class together.
It was really good. We got the apples from our field trip to the apple farm. Miss Crowley bought the apples that we picked. Wolf's mom has to peel them and cut them. It was nice of her.

We had to learn how important it is to use correct measurements when making recipes. We used a cup, and a tablespoon to measure out the sugar, water and cinnamon.

First, we put it in a pot. We put sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon and water in the pot. We stirred it and turned the pot on. We had to wait all day for it to be cooked. When it was all done, we got to eat it. It was really good. It was the best I've ever had! We had fun making applesauce in class.

If you want to make applesauce, use this recipe and ingredients. By: Snake

Graphing!

This week in math we learned about graphing. We learned how to read and make bar graphs and picture graphs. It's really easy. These are some of the graphs we made in class!

You had to have a partner and we would put together the skittles and what colors we had. We made a graph of the colors that we had together. It was fun doing the skittles because after you finished the graph, you got to eat the skittles.

The color graph was fun because when you rolled the dice, you got to stamp what color it was. First, we had to make a tally to record what colors we had before we stamped it. We had fun stamping and working with graphs.

Get ready for a colorful year

In our classroom we have a board in the back. It has crayons with our names on it and it says, "Get ready for a colorful year!" It has a crayon box. The crayon box says 32 because there are 32 crayons in the box. It also says 32 because there's 30 students and 2 teachers. The board makes me feel good because it's colorful. It makes us feel special to be in 2MC.

Math is fun!

Today we worked on Math Rotations. We had three stations. We did "Mathletics". It's fun. We had paper station. We worked on Math to get ready for our test on Tuesday. We used Legos to do number patterns. The blank ones were hard. We had to figure out the missing number in the pattern. It was good. I liked it.

This week we also played math battleship. My partner, rattlesnake, won! We had to give clues to our partner. They had to guess our 3 digit number. It was hard because it was really high.

Math is really fun in Second Grade.

All About Me

We made ourselves on a piece of paper and then we wrote what we liked and what we wanted to be when we grow up. And when the Back to School Night came our parents had to guess who we are. It was fun making them in Second grade. By: Komodo Dragon

One cool friend

One cool friend I made is a penguin. Every time I open my cubby door I can see him standing right next to me when I open my cubby door. I love my penguin.

We read the book, "One cool friend." It was about a penguin that a kid stole from the aquarium. He becomes his best friend and his father thinks its a toy. We made a penguin and a few days later we watercolored it. Around the penguin we put a lot of friendly words because we wanted to dedicate it to our own friends. By: Black Widow

We are excited to "Bee" in 2nd grade!!

We made the bees to tell how excited we are for second grade. We had to put the eyes on and put them together with glue. Some people wrote that they are excited because the teacher is fun and nice. Other people wrote that they want to learn math and multiplication. We can't wait for a great year.
