Eucharistic Vocabulary

Last week we learned Eucharistic Vocabulary. We got a tour of the church and saw everything. Father Angelo showed us all the things that we learned about. We learned about the roman missile, the paten, and corporal. We also learned about the chalice, the pyx, the vestments, the alb and the stole. Finally, we learned about the tabernacle and sanctuary lamp. We did a challenge where we had to match the words to their pictures and we also made a picture where we had to label all the eucharistic vocabulary words on a picture. We got to color the priest in vestments. I drew him wearing the color purple for the season of lent. By: Koala

Lilies with Art House

Last week when Art house came, we made flowers. She showed us how to draw them and making them beautiful. We had to copy her the best we could. Then we used a pastel to outline the pencil we drew in black. Then we used watercolors to make the pictures colorful. Everyone of them turned out great! We hung them in our classroom windows to share with the other classes. By: Horse

QR code Writing

Last week during our Wednesday stations, we used the iPads to scan QR codes. We had a cube and we rolled it. Then we scanned the cube and there was a story we had to write. It said what to start with. I got a story about being invisible. I wrote that I would tell my mom and we have lots of fun. We would haunt people and it would be funny. I liked writing with the QR cube. It was fun. By: Moray Eel

Aurasma

This week we did the Aurasma app for a leprechaun project for St. Patrick's day. We made leprechaun stories. We drew a picture of our story and a cover for our story. Then we video taped ourselves telling the story. The app was so cool because when scanned the cover of our story, the video we made came to life and you could hear our story when looking at our picture. We did a story about a leprechaun and a dragon. The leprechaun was looking for gold and the dragon let him have some from his cave. They became best friends and it was great story.

After we all made our stories, we had a big gallery walk and walked around using the iPads to listen to everyone's stories. It was awesome. I can't wait to use the app again to make a new story!! By: Lion

Math Facts

This week we practiced our math facts. We played lots of games and worked hard to memorize them. We played one game, where we rolled dice and had to add them up. We had to do as many as we could in ten minutes. Then we played an app called Math Slide. We were in groups of two and we battled for speed. We had two minutes to play them and then we switched teams. It was really fun!!

Finally, we played another game where we rolled the dice and added up them quickly. Whatever the answer, we looked on our game board to see if we had it. Then we would put a circle marker on it. The person that made four in a row first won! We had a great time practicing our facts this week! By: Basset Hound.

Cat in the Hat comes to Second Grade!

On Dr. Seuss' birthday we made stories about if Thing one, Thing two and the Cat in the hat came to our classroom what would happen. In my story, they wrecked all our iPads, did backflips in the classroom and made a huge mess in our classroom. In my friend's story, he threw crayons everywhere and he would glue us into our chairs. We all wrote really funny stories and we had a really fun time doing it! We wish that he would really come to our classroom! By: Koala

Measurement Videos

We made videos about measuring things in our classroom. We took pictures of different things and then we used an app called Pixntell to make videos. We told people what we would use to measure each picture. For example if you wanted to measure a ball, you would use a measuring tape because its goes around things that are circles. You should watch some of our videos. We love making videos! By: Raccoon

2MC's Lucky Little Leprechauns

This week we made leprechaun projects and we put a pot of Gold next to them and they were under a rainbow. Each pot had money in them and we had to glue it and count the money to find out how much money the leprechauns had. Then we wrote funny stories about how we found leprechauns in our backyard. Each story was different and they were all really funny. I wrote about how when I was playing in the backyard with my toys, and then I heard this noise in the bushes and how I caught him and let him go and how I will catch in a jar every time he comes back! I liked this project and I learned a lot. By: Saber Tooth

Measuring!

We had partners and we were going to measure the paper airplanes and how far they went with feet and inches. We used an inch ruler and a measuring tape to measure. First, we had to make the paper airplanes. Everyone made them differently. Then we had to throw them. After that, we had to mark where it landed with chalk and where we were standing. Just in case the wind blew the paper airplane. Then we measured the distance and it was so much fun! We loved doing it!
