ST MATH

We love playing ST Math during Math rotations because we are getting to really high levels in Math. It teaches us lots of cool things.

You have a really long password and it was hard to learn it at first, but now it is so easy!!

We try to get this penguin to the other side. His name is Jiji.

Here is a picture of a level I beat! In this level I had to get jiji to the platform. He lost some blocks along the way. I had to figure out how to help him by choosing how many blocks high he was on. It was really cool.

We love playing ST MATH on our school iPads or computers. By: Moray Eel

Teddy Bear Baptism

This week we learned about Baptism and we got to bring our teddy bears to school to be baptized. Baptism is a sacrament. A sacrament is a sign of God's love. In Baptism you become a part of God's family. You become a Catholic. When you get baptized first they say your name, "I baptize you in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen."

This is a picture of Father Angelo getting ready to baptize the teddy bears. He explained about the oil and how it wasn't cooking oil because it was blessed by the Pope. It's a special oil.

This is a picture of Scorpion's Teddy Bear next to the special oil.

Here is a picture of Pika making the sign of the cross on his bear's head. This symbolizes the cross and how we belong to Jesus.

This is us holding our bears over the Holy water about to get baptized. Father Angelo let us pour just a little water on their heads to pretend like we were actually baptizing them. He said its practice for if any of us want to be priests or nuns someday.

Here is a picture of a teddy bear getting a little holy water on his head!

Father Angelo explained to us about the Baptismal candles and how we have to be lights for the world. We had so much fun and learned so much about baptism. We even made special baptismal certificates for them! By: Koala

Mr. Bones loves Addition

We made skeletons and decorated them with a hat and a bow tie. There were math problems on the skeleton's bones and we had to solve them and then we had to put him together and we put them next to our pictures for second grade. They were hard math problems because they were 3 digit addition and we had to regroup. Not all of them had to regroup. Some you didn't have to. We put them together in different places. The bones were all different. All of them looked different. Some look like they are dancing. Mine looks a skeleton that is dancing on water. By: Saber Tooth

Haunted House stories

Our Haunted House stories are very scary and make our teacher have nightmares. We made them really scary by putting scary characters from Halloween stories and added lots and lots of details. We wanted our readers to picture our scary stories in their minds. In my story I had a cat sitting next to a spoon with blood in it. I also had a flying jack o' lantern that flies over lots of bones. It was really scary. By: Jaguar

2MC's Creepy Halloween Characters!

We've been learning about characters and reading about them too. So we got some construction paper and we had to make a halloween character, but it couldn't be a toy, or a character a from movie, and it couldn't be a pokemon. We couldn't draw it. We only could cut and glue. It was hard but fun. Then we had to think of a name and say what it likes or what it was. What his favorite food was or where did he live. We had to describe it as much as much as we could. We couldn't use the same word to start our sentence over and over. We had to change it up. Then our teacher put them on our walls next to our pumpkin prayers. By: Panther

Our First Book Report

We read a book at home and we tried to make a character and others characters too. We wrote on a paper about what the main character was and the problem and the solution. We had to make a character puppet using a paper towel or a toilet paper roll. We could use anything we wanted, but we had to cover the paper towel roll with some paper. I also got to share it with the class. We read our paper and showed the puppet. I read Penny the Pony Fairy and made Penny. She looked awesome. I had a lot of fun. by: Red Fox

Guardian Angels

It was fun and cool to make a guardian angel. We had to color the clothes and the face of the angel. Then we had to cut on all the black lines and we cut one wing up and one wing down. We had to tape the sides together and stick eyes on the head. Then we made a halo. Our teacher used hot glue to stick the gemstones and halo on. It was fun to celebrate the feast of the guardian angel. By: Dog

Popplet Sequencing!

We read two different stories. There was one about Johnny Appleseed and one about a dog who wanted to be a boy. Then we talked about putting a story in the correct order. Miss Crowley told me its called Sequencing. Then we used an app called poppet to put the story in order. We downloaded pictures from dropbox. Then we put them into our poppets. We had to write sentences about the story. I liked putting the stories in order. By: Tiger

10 more! 10 less! 100 more! 100 less! Candy Corn!

We picked a number. We did ten more and ten less and one hundred more and one hundred less. We wrote our answers down on the candy corn for the lesses and the mores. We also drew pictures to show how we knew the answer. We had lots of fun making them. We're going to hang them up during October. By: Fish
