Syllables

We played this game during centers. It's like a maze that you have to make. It tells you how many syllables you need and you have find those syllables in words. When we found one, we put a token on that word. We had to get all the way to the finish square. When we found the maze, we could clean it. We used magnets to clean up the tokens! It was so much fun! I like practicing with syllables. By: Fish

Our very last Project Cornerstone

This week we had our very last Project Cornerstone. We read a book about a little girl that had a hard time reading stuff and she didn't know that she had dyslexia. That means she sees numbers and letters differently. A little boy was making fun of her and teasing her. Her teacher helped her learn to read. He was an upstander and kind and caring adult. Project Cornerstone taught us to help others and be upstanders and to not dip in other people's buckets. We also should always tell a caring adult if we are sad or upset or need help. By: Zebra

Then we played a game. We had to answer questions from the books we read in Project Cornerstone. We were in groups and at the very end we got these little baggies with a letter that tells us what's in there and why. We are sad that Project Cornerstone is over this year. We want more Project Cornerstone!!!! By: Cat

Prayer Buddies

The prayer buddies sent us letters! They answered our questions and wrote us back! Our prayer buddies are second graders in Denver, CO. We prayed for each other this year, especially before First Communion and Reconciliation. They sent us pictures of themselves and we taped them to our AN's. We are so excited that we have prayer buddies. By: Turtle
