Shape project!

We learned about shapes. We learned their vertices, sides and angles. We also learned whether it was 2D shape or a 3D shape. I love shapes. We got to practice naming shapes and playing with them. We even made shape people that talked! We made them talk using chatterpix. Chatterpix is like an app that you slide across and create a mouth. Then when you record, a moth moves for you. You can watch some of our videos. We hope you like them! By: Shark

3D shapes

Here we were learning about 3D shapes. We took pictures of things in our classroom that were 3D shapes. We had to make these collages using an app called pic collage. We got to pick a background and label the shapes we found in the classroom. That was so much fun! My favorite part was being with my friends and finding the shapes. It was like a scavenger hunt. The backgrounds were cool. By: Raccoon and Red Fox

Heritage Reports

We just finished everyone's Heritage Reports. You can look at the map above to see all the places we learned about. For our Heritage Reports we had to choose a famous person from our country and learn about them. We had to present them to our classmates and to also share a special surprise like a food or a picture album from our country too. I did my report on Athena the God because I am Greek.  I also brought my dancing friends from Greek Dance and we put on a show for my classmates and others. Finally, I shared delicious Greek food with them. My favorite was the pita. I think they all like learning about Greece.

These are some pictures of some of the other things my classmates shared. Everyone did a great job on their reports. They were all so cool and fun to learn about. The food was absolutely delicious. I loved learning so many new things about our World and Heritage. Maybe you should do this project too and learn a little yourself and your country. By: Cat

Project Cornerstone Prayer Envelopes

This week in Project Cornerstone, we made prayer envelopes to tell God our worries and problems. We read the book, "Sebastian's Roller Skates" about a boy who is worried to talk and very shy. He learned to roller skate and he finally speaks up. We got to decorate our prayer envelopes with stickers and markers and crayons. We had to write our names on the back, so that we wouldn't lose ours. Miss Crowley sent them home in our Friday Folders. We put them under our pillow and then the next day our worries are gone and God has taken them away. We can't wait to use them for prayer!! By: Arctic Fox

Multiplication Wall

The multiplication problem wall was really fun to create. We each had to pick an item from our house and bring them to school and we glued them to our multiplication problem hands. We made a word problem using the hands and the item. We showed that groups of items is how you learn multiplication. We each had different items. It looks really cool in our classroom. By: Lion

Measurement Me

We made a project about measurement and us. We had to draw ourselves and then measure yourself. We made a small model of ourselves by showing how long in inches our body was. We got to color it and glue yarn hair onto it. It was cool to see the measurement models and we hung on the wall so we could see how we learned to measure. By: Komodo Dragon

Counting Money!

We played a money war game. You get two cards from a deck of playing cards and you flip the two cards over and you try to draw coins to make that amount. We can make it in two different ways. By: Komodo Dragon

We also used a cool app called Neapod. The app asks us questions and Miss Crowley controls it. She makes a presentation on it and we each get to answer the questions in her presentation. It's tons of fun when we use it. By: Koala and Shark

We played a math game called, "Money Spin." We have a pen and a little paper clip and a circle board. You use the pen to spin the paperclip. It lands on different coins. We take turns and add up all our coins to see who can get to 100 cents or $1.00 first! By: Panther

There is also a level on ST Math for money. You get the coins and you put them in a square to get to a  certain price. You have to count the coins and make sure you have the right amount. If you get the right amount then Jiji can get across the screen. By: Lion

We do ST math all the time when we have time and I can't wait to get to the money level. By: Rattlesnake

The money level on ST Math is really fun. It made me think really hard and learn how to count money much better. By: King Cobra

We start with the biggest coin and count each one until we know the total amount. By: Cheetah

We played a cool game with cards. We had to make the money with our coins. By: Zebra

I love using the plastic coins and getting to use the spinner to count to a dollar. By: Wolf

Egg-cellent Multiplication Eggs

When we used the multiplication eggs, we made groups of blocks inside of the eggs. The eggs showed us how to solve multiplication problems. We then used our recording sheet to write down the eggs we created and then we showed repeated addition. It was fun and we loved using them as Manipulatives. By: Horse

The Stained Glass Crosses

For Holy Thursday, we made stained glass crosses at the end of the day. We hid special words inside to remind us when we look at it to be followers of Jesus. They each look different and very beautiful. We liked making them.

We also made crosses in Art House that represented the cross where Jesus died on good Friday. It is important to remember Jesus and his sacrifice during Holy week. By: Pika

Resurrection Eggs and Stations of the Cross

This week we also worked on Stations of the Cross Booklets. They were fun because we got to use iPads to research each station and write about what happened at that station and how we think Jesus or the people there felt. We liked using the iPads and we learned so much about Jesus. By: Leopard

We used resurrection eggs to pray today on Holy Thursday. They are twelve plastic eggs with special items inside showing what Jesus did for us during Holy week. Him dying for us is very special and these eggs remind us how much he suffered and went through because he loves us. They made us feel relaxed, peaceful and grateful that God loves us so much. We loved using them. By: Artic Fox

Famous Person Biography Book Report

We did Book Reports on Famous people in History. We had to read a book at home and then we had to write facts down about that person that we learned and then create a poster. By: Bassett Hound

The special thing about the posters was we had to make a giant hole in them and we put our heads through them, so we could look like the person. By: Tiger

We also got to play something called gallery. Some people got to be the art and some people were art experts. The art experts looked at the picture and pretended their was a button and the art would come  alive and say a fact about themselves and who they are. By: Jaguar

We had to write ten facts about famous person that we did and we had to make our posters look real. I did Amelia Earhart. I had so much fun doing it. By: Turtle

We made our poster and we put our head through them and after we did a game and people pushed our buttons and we said our names and a fact about ourselves and then we froze like art again. By Dog

We did Biography reports about some people. For mine I did Harry Houdini. I loved working on the biography report. We did not draw holes instead we cut a hole and put our own face through it. By: Black Widow
