Project Cornerstone
This week in Project Cornerstone, we read about Ruby Bridges. She was very famous and she was alive when they were treating colored people unfairly. She went to a white school and had a lot of problems because people were very mean to her. She helped us see how our country needed to become better. She is still alive today.
To help us understand how she felt, we got little warm fuzzies. People with short sleeves got warm fuzzies first and the people who wore long sleeves didn't get any. We didn't think it was fair and we learned that was how Ruby Bridges and people with darker skin felt when they couldn't go to the same school as white children.
Finally, we made people and we made clothes with paper and eye stickers. We learned that we're a rainbow of skin colors but everybody is special! We loved learning about it!

Measurement!
We also this week, made measurement gardens. You can see the picture of some of them. We had to color the flowers and cut them out. Then we had to put them in order from smallest to greatest. Finally we had to measure them in inches. It was fun!
We love learning to measure.

Sharing God's Love
In Valentine rotations today we talked about sharing God's love. It was a heart and it said "I share God's love when I..." and then we had to write how we share God's love. When we were done writing. We got to color them, and cut them out and glue them onto a purple piece of paper.
During Rotations, Father Angelo peeked his head in and saw how much fun we were having. So he did one too. His looks so nice. It was fun having him work with us.
We hope you will share God's love too!

President Research
We started learning about Presidents and it was a really fun activity. We got to go on iPad apps about presidents. On the apps we had to find information about our president. We each got a president to research. We had to find out how tall he was and something he liked to do. We also had to find out when he died and what his favorites are. My president was George H. Bush. I liked learning about him a lot.

100th day of School
We did so many things on the 100th day of school. We went on a hershey kiss hunt. Just like it was easter. We had to find 100 kisses and we all could eat three. We found all of them but one. It is still missing. It is number 23 and we can't wait to find it in the classroom.
We also did 100 day rotations. We had to write 100 words, and we had to write 100 things we learned. We read a 100th day book and we had to also race to 100 using dice and different ways to add up to 100.
Finally, we got to write about what we would do if we got 100 dollars. I said "if I got a 100 dollars, I would use it for a house." We got a pretend hundred dollar bill with our face on it! This is a picture of our teacher with her face on a 100 dollar bill!
We had a ton of fun on the 100th day of school.

The Hierarchy of the Church
We learned all about the Hierarchy of the church. We made a movie about using pictures we found and the things we learned. We each took a turn to record our voice about a person. We made lots of videos. Here is one of them! We hope you like it! By: Orca
Book Wall
We had to write opinion pieces about our favorite books. We had to give three reasons and lots of details because we wanted our friends to want to read them too! When we were done, we got to draw the same exact picture of the front cover. It was really cool and our wall looks awesome!
