This week we learned about Baptism and we got to bring our teddy bears to school to be baptized. Baptism is a sacrament. A sacrament is a sign of God's love. In Baptism you become a part of God's family. You become a Catholic. When you get baptized first they say your name, "I baptize you in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen."
This is a picture of Father Angelo getting ready to baptize the teddy bears. He explained about the oil and how it wasn't cooking oil because it was blessed by the Pope. It's a special oil.
This is a picture of Scorpion's Teddy Bear next to the special oil.
Here is a picture of Pika making the sign of the cross on his bear's head. This symbolizes the cross and how we belong to Jesus.
This is us holding our bears over the Holy water about to get baptized. Father Angelo let us pour just a little water on their heads to pretend like we were actually baptizing them. He said its practice for if any of us want to be priests or nuns someday.

Father Angelo explained to us about the Baptismal candles and how we have to be lights for the world. We had so much fun and learned so much about baptism. We even made special baptismal certificates for them! By: Koala
