Santa and Rudolph
Some of us made Santa with some paper, a cotton ball and a doily. It was a lot of fun. We had to a write a story as if we were Santa. We also to use an interesting beginning sentence. We had to use our best handwriting and to tell the story of how our reindeer, Rudolph, saved Christmas.
The rest of us did Rudolph. We made him with paper, and a red pom pom ball. We also used paint. We told his story as if we were him and I think that it was a lot of fun. Stories are more interesting when they are told by the character. I loved it. By: Cat

Snowman Clocks!
This week we started to talk about time. We remembered what we did in first grade and showed Miss Crowley what we know. Then we did centers. One center was on ST MATH, one was practicing subtraction and the last center was making a time snowman. His body was a clock and his hat showed the time on his hat. We loved making them! By: Puppy
Native Americans
The past two weeks we learned about Native Americans. Some people called them Indians, but they like to be called Native Americans. We got split into groups and we each got to learn about a tribe. We had to find information about each tribe and then make a poster. It was sort of hard but we had a lot of fun. Then we got to share them with our class. We weren’t allowed to read off our poster, but we had to teach the class all about our tribe. We learned a lot!! By: Raccoon

Me on a Map
We read the book, "Me on a Map." It was all about someone showing a map of their their room, their town, their state, their country, and their world. They also talked about the continents. After we read it, we figured out where we were in the world. We then wrote it all in a flip book and at the end of our hard work, we took a picture of ourselves. We cut it out and then we cut out a picture of the world. We colored the world picture. We colored the oceans blue and the land green. Then we made it look like we were holding the earth up. It was really awesome to learn! I love knowing where I live in the world. I loved doing our "Me on the Map" project! By: Shark
Ten Commandment Posters
This week in class we learned about the Ten Commandments. God gave these to us. They are important because they help us be good people. We got into groups and we we had to draw a picture of what it looked like to follow one of the commandments. One group had "Keep Holy the Sabbath." We drew a picture of going to church. We then had to share our commandment in front of the whole class. It was fun learning about the ten commandments. By: Zebra

Pilgrims
Miss Crowley went on a trip to visit her sister. Mrs. Krewson, our principal, was subbing for us! She read us a story and we talked about the pilgrims in the story. Then we made pilgrims! We made pilgrims either a a boy or a girl. We made them with paper and paper plates. It wasn't hard to make them because there were two examples of a boy and a girl on the board. We are going to hang some of them in the window and some on the cabinets in the classroom. They are going to remind us about Mrs. Krewson subbing our class and also about Thanksgiving. By: Arctic Fox
Geography Game
Last week we were learning about the prime meridian and the equator. They are imaginary lines that split the earth in half. The prime meridian splits the earth into east and west and the equator splits the earth into north and south.
We practiced these by playing a game. Miss Crowley would yell "Equator" and we would lay down on the ground. Then she would yell, "Prime Meridian" and we would stand up straight like a pencil. She could yell them anytime like right now or during math or when we were at PE or even in line after recess or lunch.
We had lots and lots and lots and lots of fun playing the game! By: Rattlesnake

Mr. Turkey loves subtraction
This week we made subtraction turkey. They were so much fun to make. I love subtraction. There was a subtraction problem on each feather. Some of them needed us to borrow, but others didn't. We had to solve the problems and put the turkey together. We also got to use our iPad to make a problem. We had to draw what it meant to borrow. It was learning about how to do subtraction.

AR
In Second grade we read lots of books and get stickers. We have to go on the iPads and take an AR quiz. If we get 70% or more, we pass. After three books, Miss Crowley puts a sticker on our shamrock. We can get prizes, if we read lots of books. We also get to change our shamrock color if we read a lot of books. Some of people have a lot of stickers already! By: Scorpion
Saint Project
The Saint project was really fun. We did a lot of work. We are our doing a Saint's play. Each person is a Saint in the play. So this week we learned about our Saints and drew a picture of them. We learned how to do "See not Think Drawings." This means you look at your picture and try to draw the picture you see exactly instead of just thinking and drawing what you want. Then we had to use the Writing Process to write about our Saint. We had to find out their information. We learned how they died and what patron Saint they are. We also learned why they are a Saint and their feast day. Then we put them on the wall. Everyone did a great job! By: Lion

ST MATH
We love playing ST Math during Math rotations because we are getting to really high levels in Math. It teaches us lots of cool things.
You have a really long password and it was hard to learn it at first, but now it is so easy!!
We try to get this penguin to the other side. His name is Jiji.
Here is a picture of a level I beat! In this level I had to get jiji to the platform. He lost some blocks along the way. I had to figure out how to help him by choosing how many blocks high he was on. It was really cool.
We love playing ST MATH on our school iPads or computers. By: Moray Eel
Teddy Bear Baptism
This week we learned about Baptism and we got to bring our teddy bears to school to be baptized. Baptism is a sacrament. A sacrament is a sign of God's love. In Baptism you become a part of God's family. You become a Catholic. When you get baptized first they say your name, "I baptize you in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen."
This is a picture of Father Angelo getting ready to baptize the teddy bears. He explained about the oil and how it wasn't cooking oil because it was blessed by the Pope. It's a special oil.
This is a picture of Scorpion's Teddy Bear next to the special oil.
Here is a picture of Pika making the sign of the cross on his bear's head. This symbolizes the cross and how we belong to Jesus.
This is us holding our bears over the Holy water about to get baptized. Father Angelo let us pour just a little water on their heads to pretend like we were actually baptizing them. He said its practice for if any of us want to be priests or nuns someday.
Here is a picture of a teddy bear getting a little holy water on his head!
Father Angelo explained to us about the Baptismal candles and how we have to be lights for the world. We had so much fun and learned so much about baptism. We even made special baptismal certificates for them! By: Koala

Mr. Bones loves Addition
We made skeletons and decorated them with a hat and a bow tie. There were math problems on the skeleton's bones and we had to solve them and then we had to put him together and we put them next to our pictures for second grade. They were hard math problems because they were 3 digit addition and we had to regroup. Not all of them had to regroup. Some you didn't have to. We put them together in different places. The bones were all different. All of them looked different. Some look like they are dancing. Mine looks a skeleton that is dancing on water. By: Saber Tooth
Haunted House stories
Our Haunted House stories are very scary and make our teacher have nightmares. We made them really scary by putting scary characters from Halloween stories and added lots and lots of details. We wanted our readers to picture our scary stories in their minds. In my story I had a cat sitting next to a spoon with blood in it. I also had a flying jack o' lantern that flies over lots of bones. It was really scary. By: Jaguar

2MC's Creepy Halloween Characters!
We've been learning about characters and reading about them too. So we got some construction paper and we had to make a halloween character, but it couldn't be a toy, or a character a from movie, and it couldn't be a pokemon. We couldn't draw it. We only could cut and glue. It was hard but fun. Then we had to think of a name and say what it likes or what it was. What his favorite food was or where did he live. We had to describe it as much as much as we could. We couldn't use the same word to start our sentence over and over. We had to change it up. Then our teacher put them on our walls next to our pumpkin prayers. By: Panther
Our First Book Report
We read a book at home and we tried to make a character and others characters too. We wrote on a paper about what the main character was and the problem and the solution. We had to make a character puppet using a paper towel or a toilet paper roll. We could use anything we wanted, but we had to cover the paper towel roll with some paper. I also got to share it with the class. We read our paper and showed the puppet. I read Penny the Pony Fairy and made Penny. She looked awesome. I had a lot of fun. by: Red Fox

Guardian Angels
It was fun and cool to make a guardian angel. We had to color the clothes and the face of the angel. Then we had to cut on all the black lines and we cut one wing up and one wing down. We had to tape the sides together and stick eyes on the head. Then we made a halo. Our teacher used hot glue to stick the gemstones and halo on. It was fun to celebrate the feast of the guardian angel. By: Dog
